About
Everybody has a dream. But none of us dream of spending nights outside. DEPAUL is a non-profit organization helping those experiencing homelessness. We were asked to uplift the digital experience and make the brand more approachable.
Since DEPAUL is an organization operating in multiple countries, we couldn’t touch the mother brand. So the logo and the primary color stayed but we uplifted everything else. Our aim was to address the stigma of the segment and avoid classic clichés of cardboard signs and close-ups of beat-up hands.
Instead, we introduced a light illustration style that takes inspiration from events and gatherings of DEPAUL. We purposefully designed those illustrations to be semi-descriptive. The topic is still sensitive so a restraint from the detail was necessary. We also introduced a new color palette making the brand even more approachable and together paired with typefaces that give the brand a modern, yet established look.
Typefaces used: Diform and Setup Serif by Setup Type.

We wanted to make sure that even though we started the project as a web uplift first, the experience naturally translates into the physical world. It is, at the end, the place where DEPAUL and their clients meet. The color spectrum, illustrations and type system deliver a cohesive experience and brand recognition across all touch points.
