A letterform the category can't copy

Privacy software all looks the same, and none of it looks friendly

Qaxa is a privacy-first collaboration tool, built by a founder and a small development team, competing for attention against established European privacy names.

We started with an Ownership Audit, benchmarking what the brand held against everyone else in the space. The finding was blunt. A logo set in an off-the-shelf typeface, illustrations bought from a stock library. Nothing on the brand was theirs, and nothing distinguished it from the category, which mostly signals security by looking cold.

The Q was the way out. Turn it and it reads as a speech bubble, so the letter carries what the product does. Rotate it again and it becomes the A. One drawn form, reused across the alphabet, generating the wordmark and then the motion system the app runs on. Warmed by illustration that is human rather than corporate.

Black speech-bubble enamel pin with the Qaxa X mark in white, pinned to a mustard cable-knit jumper.
Two Qaxa cards: a brand post reading "Qaxa whispers, never shouts" with illustrated chess pieces, and a recruitment card advertising senior data engineer roles beneath the oversized wordmark.
Vector outlines of the Qaxa wordmark with anchor points and handles visible, showing the same drawn form rotated to make the Q, the a and the o.

Shown at EAST Creative

EAST Creative in Lublin invited us to show the project, which meant the system had to leave the screen for the first time. We built a stand for it, the rotating letterform at architectural scale, the illustration language printed rather than animated. A brand that only lives inside an app can hide a weak system. Freestanding in a hall, at two meters, it can't.

Together with the team at EAST creative, we designed a custom booth housing the brand and all the motion design we created for them. We 3D-printed the main symbol and pasted stickers with brand claims on the floor for an interactive experience.

the Result

Distinctive in a Sea of Sameness

A wordmark built from one rotating letterform that no competitor in the privacy category can reach for without looking derivative.
